Returning to School to Learn Some More

As most of my friends and family know, a little over a year ago, I decided to quit my job in the marketing industry, and start my own search engine optimization firm. At first it seemed like a crazy move. Steady work is hard to find, and if any one of my client’s decided to leave, then my dinner menu would most likely be that of a poor college student.

What only my friends knew, is that I have trouble living my life without inflicting challenges on myself. If running a small business wasn’t stressful enough, I decided that if I was going to quit my job, I had to also enroll back into college, and finish my degree. I had a few years of school under my belt, but dropped out to take my last job (it was actually a great decision). But if this whole seo thing didn’t work out, I didn’t want to be caught back on square one. The only way to guarantee a sure thing, was to finish school.

So I enrolled at Portland Community College. I’ve been taking 17 credits a term just so I could catch up to where I needed to be so I could enroll at Portland State University.

I’ve just finished the computer science program offered by the community college, and have two more calculus classes, and a set of physics classes to finish. So wish me luck and if you’re looking for something that will for sure put you to sleep, check out the “Stuff I learned” in school section and read the latest computer science stuff which I’ve learned in school.
